Opaque Guards

A floating staircase and a transparent guard offer most open look and a staircase becomes a focal point in the house. More subtle approach is to calm down a stair design building an opaque guard. The guard should be clean, minimal with crisp lines. It may be built thin using metal plates, or a bit thicker using wood or even drywall. Handrails are usually built in the walls to keep whole picture more minimal.
